Starday Whole Bean Coffee

Category: Whole Bean Coffee
A rare, single-origin microlot, honey-processed and regeneratively grown by the women of Finca Santa Maria, Colombia. Notes of honeysuckle, lemongrass, and apricot. A portion of proceeds supports the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, whose work helps clinicians, educators, and community leaders bring practical tools for self-care, resilience, and healing to the people and communities they serve.
Crafted in remembrance of those who've gone back to the stars, knowing their love lives on.
Dedicated to Phyllis
This coffee my mother, Phyllis, passed away twenty years ago. Yet we still celebrate the day she returned home to the stars. In our family, we call this day her Starday.
This year’s Starday coffee comes from Santa Maria, a women-led farm in Colombia, where the growers are mothers. Their care, resilience, and devotion to future generations felt especially fitting for this tribute.
In honor of my mother, a portion of every bag supports the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, helping teachers, therapists, caregivers, and communities bring healing to children and families around the world.

Regeneratively Farmed
Grown beneath a thick biodiverse canopy of native and fruit trees near Colombia’s Chicamocha Canyon, Finca Santa Maria epitomizes environmental stewardship. Activated biochar enriches the soil with healthy microorganisms, which result in complex nutrients and flavors in the coffee. Post-harvest processing is handled with precision using state-of-the-art equipment, including an eco-washer, optical sorter, wire mesh drying deck for excellent air circulation, along with both solar and mechanical dryers.
This farm holds earned the Con Manos de Mujer seal, recognizing their leadership in environmental preservation, ethical labor, and women’s empowerment.
Women-Owned and Operated
The coffee is cultivated by a remarkable team of 22 women, all of whom are heads of household. Their mission extends beyond producing exceptional coffee; it is about positively impacting their community and nurturing a harmonious relationship with nature. Every decision on the farm is made collectively, with the future of their families and ecosystems in mind.
